Though we call ourselves LOTR confessions, we're happy to take confessions about anything Tolkien.
This blog was inspired by blogs such as Harry Potter Confessions and Criminal Minds Confessions.
If you're looking for a specific character or book, the tag page has most of it sorted.
Enjoy the blog! :)

I’m surprised at how much premature hate and judgment Tauriel gets even way before the movies are out.
Is it because she’s a woman amongst men? Even Tolkien wrote in L.A.C.E. that there is little distinction between gender roles when it comes to profession, so I don’t see how adding a female warrior is a problem.
Is it because she’s not canon? In the words of the professor himself, “The cycles should be linked to a majestic whole, and yet leave scope for other minds and hands, wielding paint and music and drama…” There’s space and opportunity for other creative minds!
I know I’m gonna get a lot of flak for this, but I’ll say it anyway: I believe she was created with respect to and understanding of Tolkien’s legendarium and creative beliefs. As to the actual merits or lack thereof of Tauriel, I think we should reserve judgment of PJ’s original character until there’s actually something we could base our judgment on.
I don’t get to see my Dad very often and the last time I visited him was 2010. I hadn’t seen any of the Lord of the Rings movies before, and we watched all 3 extended editions. They have brought us closer together and he has since sent me the book. I love them, their beautiful, and I’m glad it’s something my Dad and I can share.
Ever since I watched Theoden shout ‘Bring it down! Bring it down, bring it down, bring it down!’ during the Battle of Pelennor fields, I can’t help but shout that whenever I’m fighting an epic boss in video games.
I work at a toy store. Yesterday, a woman came in and I asked her if she wanted something personalized with a name on it. She said yes, so I asked her what name she wanted on it, and she replied “Arwen, my daughter’s name.” What a beautiful name! LOTR FTW
How close Eomer & Eowyn are makes me cry. My brother would never consider defending me like that. It’s the only sibling relationship that makes me wish things were different between us.
The Lord of the Rings movies have driven me to pursue my dream of being an actress. One day I hope I can be part of something so moving.
My entire childhood was my mom telling me about Tolken’s works. She refused to read a single word to me, saying I must discover it for myself. When I read the Trilogy, I understood.
I really upsets me that Liv Tyler is on the cover of all the memorabilia, Arwen doesn’t even have an effect on the story, Eowyn was more worthy of being Queen of Gondor.
I can’t stand the Hobbit for one single reason: its elves. It kills me, because there’s so much more to the book than that, but I can’t get past that one grievance.
When I see the Orc shooting Boromir in the wood, I just can’t help thinking that Dude looks like a Lady.
