Lord of the Rings Confessions
New tag in progress. If you’d like to opt out of anti-character / pairing confessions, blacklist this: lotrc: anti

This is Lord of the Rings confessions -- a blog where you can anonymously submit your opinions on anything Lord of the Rings, be it a casting choice in the films, something from the book, your ships, or even the fandom itself -- anything at all. Confessions can be submitted in the ask box.

Though we call ourselves LOTR confessions, also take confessions about anything Tolkien.

This blog was inspired by blogs such as Harry Potter Confessions and Criminal Minds Confessions.

If you're looking for a specific character or book, the tag page has most of it sorted.

Enjoy the blog! :)

I have to have minor surgery done soon, and I am beyond terrified about it. The only thing that seems to calm my nerves is hearing the beautiful music from the films or reading the fantastic words Tolkien wrote. I am beyond grateful to Tolkien, Peter Jackson and Howard Shore. They keep me grounded in my darkest times.

Howard Shore’s score for the Lord of the Rings is probably the greatest piece of music I will ever hear. Just listening to the soundtrack is a unique emotional experience that perfectly captures Tolkien’s image of Middle Earth and I don’t think he gets enough credit for this.

I still admire the perfection that the soundtracks are. Howard Shore is a genius, but I can’t believe he composed for Twilight. His work for it can’t compare to the LotR one.

As much as I love the genius that is Howard Shore’s score for LOTR, I can’t help but feel that “Minas Morgul” was far from menacing and really out of place, taking away from that scene.

The complete recordings are almost as awesome as the movies. I usually listen to them while reading the book. They’re perfect.

I really hope that the music for the Hobbit will not only be done by Howard Shore, but be based around the song “Concerning Hobbits.” It only seems appropriate.

I listen to all ten hours of the Complete Recordings almost every day, if I can. It’s the music I study to, read to, draw to, anything to. It’s the background music of my life. I could never be more grateful to Howard Shore for this wonderful gift.
