Though we call ourselves LOTR confessions, we're happy to take confessions about anything Tolkien.
This blog was inspired by blogs such as Harry Potter Confessions and Criminal Minds Confessions.

How close Eomer & Eowyn are makes me cry. My brother would never consider defending me like that. It’s the only sibling relationship that makes me wish things were different between us.
I really upsets me that Liv Tyler is on the cover of all the memorabilia, Arwen doesn’t even have an effect on the story, Eowyn was more worthy of being Queen of Gondor.
I want to be Éowyn only because I want Éomer as my brother. There is a whole other Rohirim story untold withint LoTR that I’d love to see some day.
It upsets me when people think AragornxÉowyn is a better match than Aragorn & Arwen because Éowyn is ‘tougher’ and a ‘fighter’. It is Arwen who truly fights for what she believes in - just not with a sword.
I wouldn’t have minded 5 minutes less of Arwen/Aragorn in the movies if it meant we could have seen 5 minutes more of Faramir/Eowyn from the Houses of Healing.
When I was younger I thought Eowyn was the strong one, but rereading the books I realise it’s Arwen. Arwen was kick-ass, she was far from the ‘princess in the tower’ version that seems to get stuck to her by some fans, she embraced who she was, went against her culture and her father’s wishes, and was far more self assured and confident than Eowyn ever was.
Having said that, Eowyn is still my favourite character, I think it’s her vulnerability, despite her obvious ability to look after herself physically, that make her so loveable. Eowyn is beautiful because she is unsure, and because, underneath that tough exterior she is so damaged, which makes her much more relateable than Arwen, who has everything together and sorted
I shipped Eowyn and Aragorn in the beginning. I know that If Arwen wasn’t in the picture, Aragorn would’ve gone with Eowyn, But I’m glad that Eowyn had Faramir in the end, they both derserved happiness after all they went through.
I have always admired Eowyn. Her courage and strength to face her unrequited love for Aragorn is admirable. I hope to find someone like Faramir someday.

As sweet as it is I dread the part where Eoywyn sings.

I can’t understand why anyone would prefer Arwen over Éowyn. While Arwen stays in Rivendell doing nothing, Éowyn goes to the battle and kills the Witch King. Now, that’s a woman to look up to.
