I have some friends who are over-the-top superfans. Others who don’t like the series at all. I haven’t read the books (though not for lack of trying) and feel somewhere in the middle. But Tolkien’s world of beauty, hope, and history captured me through the films in the best way possible. I love the series for what it makes me feel. And the impressions of others can’t change that.
